Adventure keeps us fresh and free.

Do you ever tell yourself you don't have time to go on adventures -- like a walk on the beach, a day trip out of town to the country, a glamorous night out at the opera?
“Adventure feeds the soul.”
Making time for and doing things that are adventurous to you helps you unwind, relax, and take some time to enjoy yourself. If you are too busy with work, with kids, with other responsibilities in your life and you do not get a break, then most likely something will break. That something could be you!
Be Kind to Yourself
Being kind to yourself is about practicing #selfcare and making sure you that you also well taken care of. This means you are doing things that are nourishing to you, that provide with a reprieve from the demands of the world, and allows you space to breathe and rejuvenate. Perhaps this is going on a spa retreat every now and then, or trail riding with your buddies. Whatever it is, don't neglect yourself. When we neglect ourselves, it shows. We are more irritable at work, we lash out at our family members, the stress builds up and we may become physically sick. Let yourself have the space to breath and also let others do the same. You'll find that with focus on well being, everyone benefits.
Plan Adventures as Habits
“Every adventure has a story.”
Every adventure we embark on has a story and sometimes those can be epic stories -- like the time we went on that ski adventure and the electricity went out, or you had a picnic on a mountaintop, or you went to Disneyland. All adventures have stories and the stories of our adventures can continue to nurture our soul and give us a smile long afterwards. They create the fabric of our lives and give us fond memories. They also give us something to look forward to. Make a habit of planning an adventure into your calendar on a frequent basis. I always make sure to pencil one every weekend - even if a small one. And, for the bigger ones, like out of town travel. I put those on the calendar weeks or months out, so I know it's coming. It can give me a light at the end of a tunnel if I know I'm going to be heads down in some heavy work for awhile. This ensures I can keep my eye on this reward for when I'm done and it helps sustain me along the way. I proactively schedule my adventures and I surely make sure to take them! And, I encourage you to do the same:)
